5 out of 5 smirks

Synopsis: "Recently divorced kindergarten teacher Jazz Shepherd is starting a new life in the quaint lakeside town of Bluegill. After taking a summer job at the local marina to help make ends meet, she's stunned when the chief of police enlists her help in solving a crime.

Money has been disappearing from the city coffers, and a trail leads from Bluegill's mayor to Damien Cerberus, a rich boat owner and possible killer. The police chief is short-staffed and in need of someone to keep tabs on the suspect. Jazz's job at the marina puts her in the perfect position to help and puts her in the path of Kurt Reynolds, the hottie who mans the fireboat.

When things with Kurt start heating up, how can Jazz keep her investigation undercover while enjoying time under the covers with her summer flame?"

Her Lucky Catch by Amie Denman is a hilarious story about marching to the beat of your own drum.  I found myself helplessly devoted to finishing this book because the main character, Jazz, is so quirky and funny as a reader I could easily relate to her.  Jazz has this way about her, how she says and does things reminds me of a lot of people who don't want to admit they think the things they do, but they do anyways. I love how her inter-conversations go with herself and how she plans to seduce Kurt, but then decides not to; it was hilarious. Kurt being the sexy hunk he is, is a mystery to readers until almost the very end of the book, but I think that's what makes this book and characters so unique.  We as readers are held in suspense rooting for Jazz to figure out the town of Bluegill and at the same time trying to figure out the elusive Kurt Reynolds.  I give Her Lucky Catch by Amie Denman 5 smirks because the characters are fun/funny, the story is unique, and it is easy to fall in love with a book like this.

5 out of 5 smirks

Synopsis: "A highly imaginative sensual paranormal series featuring shape-shifting animal clans who live secretly among humans and must find their pre-destined soul mate. Fate sure is a bitch… but then again… so is beautiful plus-size model Kerry. Until she meets Dante--but nothing could have prepared him for the challenge of keeping his own mate safe."

Untouched by Sara Humphreys is a story about finding your future and staying on its path. Kerry is a character who has spent most of her isolated, but has the heart of a warrior.  Dante, her counterpart, is fate rolled into sexy guy with a fierce protective streak so long it seems endless.  Kerry and Dante are two extraordinary characters who reel readers in with their combined magnetism.  I love and adore this book so much that I can see how this series could become very addicting to read over and over again.  I give Untouched by Sara Humphreys 5 smirks because the characters are easy to fall in love with, the story is fresh and mysterious, and this series is/will be very addicting.

4 out of 5 smirks

Synopsis: " When she's sent to a crime scene and finds her second dead woman in as many weeks, half-banshee detective Kiera "Mac" McLoughlin is convinced a serial killer is on the loose. Incubi are extinct, her boss insists. But what else can kill a woman in the throes of pleasure? When her partner is murdered after using witchcraft to locate the killer and Mac is thrown off the case, her frustration turns to desperation.

Certain the killer is an incubus, Mac works behind her department's back to chase down slim, sometimes perilous leads. While the killer eludes her, she does discover handsome Aidan Byrne, an investigative counterpart from the enigmatic Otherworlder Enforcement Agency. Mac typically runs her investigations fast and hard, but with Aidan at her side, she's running this one "hot" as well. But Aidan knows more than he's letting on-something that could shatter their blazing romance and add Mac to the killer's growing body count..."

Banshee Charmer by Tiffany Allee is a exciting story about otherworlders and problems they can cause with their abilities.  Keira is a stubborn character who wears her heart on her sleeve even though she does her best to hide it.  Aidan possesses raw animal magnetism that will keep readers wanting more.  I give Banshee Charmer by Tiffany Allee 4 smirks because the story was a roller coaster ride of suspense, passion, betrayal, and mystery.
